Brett grew up in Buena Vista, from 1977 till graduating from college in 1994. Brett attended the University of Northern Colorado where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree for Business Management.
After graduation he moved to Ohio to work in sales for a sporting goods manufacturing company. He spent 6 years in Ohio, but could not get the mountains out of his blood, and in January 2001 returned to Buena Vista to build houses until May 2002. Brett then spent 3 years in Montrose, before getting married and returning to Buena Vista with his new wife in January 2005. They purchased the Topaz Lodge in January, and Brett began working for Collegiate Peaks Realty in August. Brett has earned the GRI (Graduate Real Estate Institute) and MRE(Master of Real Estate) Designations in order to provide the best service to his clients through advanced education.
In April of 2008 Brett was elected as Buena Vista Town Trustee and served through April 2010. In September 2013, Brett became a Board Member for the Realtors of Central Colorado Board of Directors.
Brett’s hobbies include: Golf, Hiking, Fishing, Archery Hunting, Snowmobiling, and 4 wheeling. But his greatest joys involve his two daughters, Jaclyn, who was born December 2, 2005 and Morgan, who was born on December 28, 2007. Currently, Brett is candidate for Chaffee County Commissioner in District 1.
